TY Park       3300 N Park Rd,           Hollywood, FL 33021

Pack Walk in the Park (group dog walk) is an opportunity to get some exercise (for you and your dog) and socialize with other dog owners (non-dog owners are welcome, too!). We will walk the two-mile loop of newly paved pathways for walking, jogging, skating, and biking. Plants to attract butterflies have also been placed along the park’s northern corridor.

TY Park requires all dogs to be on a 6' leash (no retractable / flexi leads) at all times. TY Park's admission fee is $1.50 per person (ages 6 and up) After you enter the park through the toll booth, take your 1st right turn & park. You will see a red & white sign with a picture of a butterfly that says "Listen to Nature! Please turn down your radio." We will meet in this area and start walking at 9 AM (please arrive by 8:45 AM and allow time for entry, parking, etc). We will have some treats, samples, and some give aways for your dogs after the walk!*

Info on TY Park:
The Seminole Indian name of this 150-acre urban park, Topeekeegee Yugnee, means “meeting or gathering place.” T.Y. is well known for its shady picnic areas, numerous shelters, and a gazebo.   For additional info: 954-667-738

City of Tampa Search & Rescue K-9's and Handlers

The Tampa Police Department "employs" 22 police K-9's from six breeds trained in criminal captures, search and rescue, narcotic searches and bomb detection. The dogs go through an initial training program and are recertified each year through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

In fact, the K-9's live with their human partners and when they retire, they spend their golden years relaxing with their handler.

The Tampa Police Departments K-9 Unit is dedicated to the apprehension of criminal suspects. Its handler and dog team search capabilities are a valuable resource to street officers and to the community to which they serve.

Panhandle Equine Rescue

Panhandle Equine Rescue, Inc. was founded by a small group of concerned citizens, when it was discovered that equine neglect cases were not being properly handled by the appropriate authorities. Equine were “slipping through the cracks” and nothing was being done to ensure their welfare. PER became incorporated on February 1, 2005 and shortly thereafter, three PER members were authorized by the court of Escambia County, Florida under FL. Statute 828.03 to investigate reports of equine in trouble and verify if there have been violations of state laws made for the purpose of protecting animals or preventing any act of cruelty to animals. Our investigators attended a Horse Cruelty Investigation Workshop at North Carolina State University and still do continued education at every opportunity. Contact Vickie at 850-587-3671 for more info.
