The Humane Society of Greater Miami has been helping homeless animals in Miami-Dade County since 1936. Today, more than 300 homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens each day are cared for at the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center in North Miami Beach. We are able to give these animals a second chance by providing tender loving care, a good meal, shelter and medical care for as long as it takes to find them homes with kind, responsible and committed caregivers.   See loving adoptables.

Noah’s Ark Pot Belly Pig Sanctuary Education Days

Noah’s Ark Pot Belly Pig Sanctuary
New Port Richey Florida 34654

Noah's will do an educational setup between the 9th of Feb and the 17th of Feb. We will set up at the Country Oaks Vet Clinic for the Blessing of the Animals, organized by All Creatures Sanctuary . We will take one of our young pigs to show people how they can actually be trained and how sentient they are. http://noahsarkpbprescue.tripod.com/

Noah's Ark PotBelly Pig Sanctuary is located on 30 fenced acres in New Port Richey, Florida. Our Pig Rescue Sanctuary is on the beautiful west coast of the state, just NW of the Tampa Bay area and a few hours drive from Disney World Theme Parks.

Noah's Ark has been rescuing potbellied pigs for over eight wonderful years. We have seen every facet of the effects abuse and abandonment produce on potbelly pigs and the response and trust that comes from the rescue pigs from the care and affection we provide. The rescue pigs live in an open herd sanctuary in a natural environment. The potbellied pigs share their affection amongst themselves and all who come by to visit.

**UNIVERSOUL CIRCUS PROTEST **

Raymond James Stadium Parking Lot
4201 North Dale Mabry Highway
North Dale Mabry, Tampa, FL   33607

UniverSoul is known for having some of the best human talent around, and it’s high time that it followed the lead of other big-name circuses by recognizing the change in consumer attitude and eliminating animal acts now.

UniverSoul Circus has a long history of contracting with notorious animal abusers who have lengthy records of Animal Welfare Act (AWA) violations. It has worked with Hugo Liebel, who has been racking up AWA violations concerning his treatment of the ailing elephant Nosey for two decades. It also contracts with big-cat exhibitor Mitchel Kalmanson, who was cited twice within four months for denying exercise and space to big cats while with UniverSoul Circus.   http://www.universoulcircus.com/

FVA will be peacefully  protesting against this circus on Feb 20 and Feb 21. We know they will be bringing elephant(s) and zebras to Tampa.  Parking can be found around the Stadium on city streets.  We  will be providing signs but if you would like to bring your own message that would be great.

THE ANIMAL RESCUE COALITION (ARC) was founded in 1999 by Ira Barsky and Ed Sarbey when they brought together leaders from local animal welfare organizations as well as Sarasota County Animal Services to collaborate and develop a plan to end the killing of adoptable dogs and cats in the area.  The most significant aspect of this initiative has been the purchase of the ARC Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic in 2002 which, to date, has spayed and neutered over 38,000 dogs and cats, thereby substantially reducing pet overpopulation in our community. Countless generations of innocent puppies and kittens have been saved from entering a world with no homes for them. Despite significant progress, there is still much work to do.  Please visit http://www.animalrescuecoalition.org/

Snippet Citrus- It’s Hip to Snip!

Snippet Citrus
P.O. Box 476,     Homosassa Springs, Florida 34447

Snippet Citrus and Friends of Citrus County Animal Services (FOCCAS) have partnered to sponsor a special dog promotion during the month of February.  This cooperative partnership was born based on information from Animal Services and the need to find an affordable, accessible way to spay/neuter pets for citizens who are unable to afford the procedure.  With local veterinarians charging from $100 to over $300 to spay or neuter a pet, many citizens have put off having their pets spayed or neutered, adding to the increased pet population in the county. Let’s stop pet homelessness before it starts.

Starting Monday, February 1 thru Monday, February 29 as long as funds are available, the “It’s Hip to Snip” promotion will allow Citrus County citizens who qualify for financial assistance to spay or neuter their cats and dogs at the normal price of $10 for cats, and the special price of $20 for any size dog. You will need to call 352-436-4268 to see if you qualify. If you qualify, you will need to call and schedule an appointment during February.  The surgery doesn’t need to be completed before the end of February, but you must call and schedule an appointment before the end of the month.

Peggy Adams Celebrates World Spay Day

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League
3100/3200 N. Military Trail         West Palm Beach, FL 33409

On the last Tuesday in February, World Spay Day shines a spotlight on the lifesaving power of spay/neuter and the need for affordable services. World Spay Day is is the first and only international day of action to promote the spaying and neutering of pets.

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is working hard to help end euthanasia because of pet-overpopulation by providing affordable services to Palm Beach County. Additional to spay/neuter, each cat will be given FVRCP+CH vaccine, Rabies vaccine, and microchip. Palm Beach County Ordinance 98-22 requires cats to be spayed or neutered and micro-chipped by four months of age unless medically contraindicated. All cats participating in this event will be microchipped unless they already have a microchip. On February 23rd, the League's goal is to spay/neuter a total of 200 owned cats.

Who can participate? This event is open to domestic cats belonging to residents of Palm Beach County, FloridaCheck-in time: 7:30am - 9am   Check-out time: Cats are to be picked up same day at 5pm.   Visit http://www.peggyadams.org/

Pet Food Pantry Day for the Needy of Central Florida

Pantry Location
7800 S US HWY 17-92 Ste 174         Fern Park, Fl. 32730

Central Florida Animal Pantry (CFAP) helps provide pet food assistance to the economically challenged, disabled and the elderly citizens of Central Florida.
With Central Floridians facing job lay offs and foreclosure many families are feeling hopeless and unable to care for their companions. Not knowing what to do many will abandon the family pet. Our shelters and rescues are overwhelmed with surrendered animals. This is not healthy for the family, the
pets, or the shelters.
Through the efforts of C.F.A.P. and community sponsors we are able to provide pet food and low cost services to the pet owners in the hope that they will be able to keep the family together through this difficult time.
The Pantry is currently in desperate need of dry dog and cat food. Donations can be made at Pookie's and Petco in Altamonte, West Colonial and Sanford locations. Phone:321-252-CFAP(2327).http://www.animalpantry.org/

'Become a Horse Angel'

H.O.R.S.E. Inc. & Feathered Friends
5236 International Ave            Mim's, FL 32754

The Angel Program was established help horses in need by assisting rescue organizations in their mission of helping horses. Horses come from auctions, kill buyers, brokers, have been abandoned, and some come from owners that no longer want them or can no longer care for them due to illness, job loss and home foreclosures.

Often, a rescue organization has to pay to get the horse out of its desperate situation and then pay to transport the horse to their location. This alone is costly. These horses have likely been neglected and/or abused and once they are safe, they are in dire need of vet, farrier, and dental care which is also costly. Then come the expenses that come with every horse; feed, supplements, vet bills, chiropractic, wormer's, etc.

Cassat Clinic Grand Opening

FCNMHP Cassat Clinic
464 Cassat Avenue    Jacksonville, FL  32208

FCNMHP hosts a night of fabulous hors d’oeuvres and drinks at the Cassat clinic for a Grand Opening! This charity event will benefit the completion of the new Cassat Clinic – set to open this spring. With the capability to serve three times as many pets, the new clinic is a significant milestone in  our no-kill mission.

The Cassat clinic, on Cassat Ave. near I-10, will effectively triple the amount of pets saved.  The only catch is that the clinic cannot open until we get the necessary equipment, and the equipment missing is very costly. Having this event at the new clinic, which is almost completely constructed, will hopefully allow people to see and feel how huge the impact will be once it is completed.
Come and enjoy drinks, food, and good fellowship. Special stations will be set up around the new clinic to raise awareness about our life-saving programs.
